Founded in 2007, FedEx CrossBorder (formerly Bongo International) started as a package forwarding service for international consumers who wanted to purchase items from U.S.-based websites that did not offer international shipping. We provide customers with access to these retailers through a U.S. address, and forward their packages from one of our distribution centers to over 200 countries and territories worldwide. Today, FedEx CrossBorder has five distribution centers — in the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Peru, and one each on the U.S. East and West coasts — and has International Shopper members across the globe.
As our company grew, we began developing solutions for online merchants who wanted to expand to international markets. FedEx CrossBorder offers safe, end-to-end solutions that allow e-tailers to easily accept orders from consumers outside the U.S. and Canada. Our solutions provide a seamless, localized experience for consumers, displaying the checkout page in their language, accepting their preferred payment methods, and showing prices in their local currency. Additionally, we offer e-tailers the ability to display a total landed cost, which leads to price transparency during checkout. FedEx CrossBorder solutions have been pre-integrated within a number of popular shopping cart platforms for quick implementation, giving e-tailers the ease of using their existing systems to access global markets.
